Day 2 (Dec 6th)

On the second day of our trip, we visited an oolong tea plantation not far from our campsite. We were very lucky to be able to go there, as oolong tea is quite expensive and tourists are not usually welcomed in as kindly as we were. There we learned about how the tea is farmed and prepared for selling.

We then walked out to the tea fields, and although day was hot, the beautiful scenery around us distracted us easily. There were blue lakes that were clear enough that we could see the bottoms. The plantation was so large that we were surrounded by green rows of tea for miles.

Once we were out in the fields, we learned the correct way to pick the tea, and then had a competition in our groups- whichever team picked the most tea would win.

Overall, it was a really interesting experience and we had a great time.

Also on the second day of our trip, as groups were separated into 2, one going to the oolong tea plantation and one staying back doing abseiling within our camping areas. Just like the previous years, abseiling was as interesting as ever, but this year was probably one of the best. As we went down the 25 meters we got to 'enjoy' the view of the waterfall next to us, feeling the breeze of wind and mist brushing against our shoulders.

Most of us are scared when we began but the feeling of accomplishment and success when we got down at the end was a once in a lifetime kind of feeling. Not only that there was a rainbow by the waterfall when we got down, the view was truly amazing and the entire experience was wonderful, we also played water balloon volleyball during that day, which is a really fun game that requires teamwork.

Well in the end, the trip only got to the second day and it was already this great, I'm really looking forward to the rest of it.
